Rideshare
One of the troubles we face in this life is the effects of competition. Of course, the effects of competition can be a good thing as well. However, when competition causes workers to struggle to earn a living then we suffer. There are companies that pay their workers so little that they can barely pay the bills. Even as a skilled tradesman I found myself in that situation when I took a job building cabinets. I started at a low rate of pay thinking that after awhile a worthy raise would be in order. I was paid several dollars less an hour than the standared rate. When I learned what other workers there were earning and that one guy only got a 50 cent raise after a year, I had to consider another line of work. Many people didn’t stay long at that company and left for better paying jobs. Even the plant manager quit.
Personally, when shopping, I don’t buy cheap just to save money. Yet neither do I get extravagant. I have come to understand the value of buying quality services and products. I recall many years ago when I was in home construction doing drywall work, I was hanging drywall with a man who would buy the cheapest hole saw he could find. They kept breaking on him and I suggested he buy one like I had that would hold up for a long time. He told me that he only paid $2 for his. I had paid about $6 for mine and it was a sturdy saw. I asked him to count how many broken saws he had that were laying around the house on the floor and compare it to my $6 saw. He soon realized that he was actually paying a lot more for his cheep saws that kept breaking in comparison to my good saw that lasted many times longer. In fact, since that time it has lasted for decades, where his saw only lasted a day or two. The next day he came to work with a better saw.
You might be wondering by now what this has to do with Rideshare. The Rideshare industry is no different than any other industry that if you don’t pay workers enough, the good ones will quit and you are left with the bad ones who don’t provide good service. I recently talked with a man who uses Uber regularly, in fact every day as far as I know. He told me that he chose to use Uber because they have better drivers and cars. Their competition was cheaper, and the drivers were not near as professional as Uber drivers and their vehicles were questionable. Their competition also had lowered prices so much that their good drivers were quitting and the service they got was not good. The competition was gaining more customers fast because of the lower prices, however people are beginning to realize the poor service is not what they want.
Uber, in many people’s minds has been the leader in Rideshare for a long time. And as far as I’m concerned, they still are. I recommend Uber to anyone who needs to use Rideshare. Uber has other competitors but they cannot compete against the quality that Uber provides. Although Uber may cost a bit more, I am aware they have lowered their prices in comparison to what they once were.
In my experience, Uber is the best choice for the Cookeville, TN area concerning quality and professionalism. Cheap will save you money, but the real professionals know the value of providing the best service doesn’t involve cheap prices. Remember to choose Uber for your Rideshare needs.
